(AP) ? A Terrebonne Parish jury has convicted a Chauvin man of first-degree murder in the deaths of his longtime girlfriend and their child. Prosecutors did not seek the death penalty. On Tuesday evening, Smith was found guilty of two counts first-degree murder after a jury deliberated for about 90 minutes. Smith is already serving a five-year prison sentence after pleading guilty to drug charges in St. Tammany Parish.
