Rice student shadows Eugene Atget

In the early 1900s, French photographer Eugene Atget made quick work to capture Paris' ambience with his tripod and wooden-bellows camera. With the help of Geoff Winningham, her mentor and photography teacher, she spent four weeks in Paris in May studying Atget, retracing his steps and taking photographs. Atget and Jordan's photos are displayed side by side, which gives a "before and after" feel to the pictures in her exhibit. Jordan is an English major, but she has always had a burning passion for photography. Jordan said the Jardin du Luxembourg was her favorite spot because of the mix of tourists and Parisians in the area.
